Great product. I had no problems at all. Just as expected. Pleasantly impressed.
This has become my go to Ice fishing rod, it has a beautiful handle and feel.
Extremely well made honestly wasn’t expecting it to be this nice. The handle is well crafted and easy grip the rod itself is small but very good action and the reel has a 5.1:1 gear ratio. I’m going to be using it with some sabiki rigs and crappie jigs come summer time looking forward to see what this little rod/reel set can handle.
This is my first ice fishing rod with a pistol grip. It is surprisingly nice for this purpose. Fits great in the hand.
Likes:
- I really like that the rod breaks down into two pieces.
- The pistol grip is surprisingly comfortable for jigging through a hole in the ice.
- The rod has a nice flex and action. Stiff enough at the base to keep the tension on a fish, but light enough at the tip to detect soft bites.
- The reel is reversible.
- The handle on the reel folds down at the press of a button.
- Reel operates smoothly. I didn't have any icing issues. The drag is decently strong for this application.
Issues:
- The carrying bag is a very light weight nylon. It is not affording any protection to the rod.
- The grip doesn't fit in any of my rod holders. It is a pistol grip shape of injection molded plastic made to look like burled wood. Nice looking, feels nice in the hand... but not functional beyond that.
